I must first start this post by saying one thing – we have the most INCREDIBLE clients in the world! I mean, I can’t even begin to tell you how fortunate we are, and I say this with an overwhelming feeling of how fortunate we feel. How did we get this lucky? Years ago, we simply set out to pursue a dream of working with people who weren’t just looking to follow tradition or meet industry expectations, but rather with people who wanted to get back to the core of what love really is, and what a wedding day should look like. The result for us has been getting to work with some of the best people we could have ever imagined in some of the most incredible places. After just a few phone conversations and emails, we knew without a shadow of a doubt that working with Nina and Gerrett was going to be a pivotal moment in our year! Perry and I met Nina and Gerrett for the first time the night before their wedding at a restaurant in Brooklyn called Lulu & Po. Right when we walked in, we were greeted with bear hugs as if we were long time friends reuniting after years apart. We can honestly say this connection really affected the photos in such a big way. On the day of their wedding, we were not merely shooting as spectators, but rather as friends. We felt the weight of each moment in such a genuine way. We held back tears behind our cameras during their vows as well as their impromptu first dance, and then we ate, drank, and danced the night away. It was a wedding we will never forget.
Just another fantastic night in Denver with some really incredible people. Ben and Shawna are getting married on Halloween night this year – so we are already shopping for our costumes. We love how simple, raw, and colorful this shoot turned out! Turns out we have a thing for parking garages and rooftops! haha. Mainly, we just love shoots that are centered around two people and their love. The backdrop is just a fun accessory . Can’t wait for the wedding you guys!
First convo with Jen went a little like this “So you have to shoot our wedding – but there’s just one little thing….we really want to do our engagement session on the top of a 300 ft crane….would you guys be down for that?!”. We quickly realized that Jen and Kyle were our kind of people! Ones who live life to the fullest, with big belly laughs, soaking up the present, pulling each other really really close. Being around these two you can’t help but get sucked into this something they have. This crazy connection. This energy. This crazy love. It’s infectious. I mean, together they’re simply – magnetic. It’s something you can tangibly feel when you’re around them. Climbing up this crane was one thrilling adventure in itself (especially at 7 months pregnant!), one we will never forget. Getting to document these two in this beautiful time of their lives was even better. I honestly feel so honored when people ask us to document their wedding and engagement. It’s just such a special, pivotal, fleeting time in life and I literally think about that fact every time I shoot. Jen and Kyle, thank you for welcoming us into your lives and for letting your guards down in front of our lenses. Thank you for just being you. Your love is so real, so authentic. You can even feel it when you look at these images. We can’t wait for the wedding this summer.
