We’re in Chicago, shooting a wedding. We meet John on the dance floor. He’s the best man and a damn good dancer. He looks at Perry and says, ” You see that girl over there? I’m going to ask her to marry me and when I do, I’m calling you!” Sure enough, here we are a year later, in Brooklyn shooting their engagement session. Sometimes you just meet people who turn your life upside down. People who welcome you into their lives, who make you a part of their adventure, and who ask you to document one insanely special day in their lives. John and Youn are those people. She studied at Juilliard, he did his residency in Manhattan, so it only seemed right to document their engagement in the city that never sleeps. On our little trip to Brooklyn this month we met up with some of the coolest people. It’s kind of a crazy experience when you meet people online and then in person and from the first cup of coffee together, you instantly feel like you have been friends for years. This was the case with these two. David and Lauren are getting married this April and we were so thrilled to capture them in their neighborhood, Fort Greene, Brooklyn. David and Lauren have the sweetest and most genuine hearts. It’s clear they are perfect for one another and that great things lay in store.
